Online Class: Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation

Learn what mindfulness is, build a daily practice and discover how meditation can result in actual changes in your brain and improve your outlook. Classes will include a variety of meditation practices.

Dates: Tuesday, June 5-19, 5:30-7 p.m. 

*Joining a GoToMeeting online class is easy! You can log in from any computer or mobile device. You will receive an invitation by email with a link to join the class. If using a mobile device, you will need to download the free app. Refunds will be given if you experience technical difficulties.

Peggy Huddleston's Prepare for Surgery, Heal Fasterâ„¢

Discover five simple actions you can take before surgery to reduce anxiety, decrease pain and shorten recovery time. Leyza will guide you in mind-body techniques shown to enhance the healing process.
You will need to get the book's relaxation CD or MP3 prior to surgery. Three book/CD sets are available at the Alfond Center Library or the CD may be purchased at a discount in class. You may also purchase the MP3 at www.HealFaster.com. If you chose the CD option, you MUST have a portable CD player.

Walking the Labyrinth

The practice of walking labyrinths for spiritual grounding and renewal dates from the Middle Ages. MaineGeneral now has a large granite labyrinth overlooking the hospital. Come and explore the history and spiritual significance of the labyrinth, and join in an experience of walking it together. Requires ability to walk on uneven terrain. Please notify us in advance if you require parking near the labyrinth.
