Memory Books: Preserving Memories through Stories

Calendar Feb 29, 2020 at 10 am, runs for 3 weeks

Preserve memories for family and loved ones through writing, journaling, illustrations and collage. Participants will be able to create a hard-copy version of their book over three weekly sessions that are structured to expand your options of narrative and scrapbooking techniques.

Date: Saturday, Feb. 29-March 14; 10 a.m.-noon (3 sessions)

Managing Blood Pressure - An Empowering Approach

Calendar Mar 3, 2020 at 5 pm, runs for 5 weeks

Learn the ins and uts of blood pressure (BP) self-management. You will learn how to obtain an accurate BP measurement at home, ways to manage blood pressure with simple lifestyle modifications and have access to a free home monitoring device during the duration of the class. Education will be complemented with hands-on activities and constructive conversation. Class is open to all but may be best for those new to managing blood pressure and those supporting family members with (pre)hypertension.

Date: Tuesday, March 3-31; 5-6 p.m. (5 sessions)

Stop Smoking with Hypnosis

Have you tried to quit smoking but just can’t break the habit? Hypnosis can help you regain your control and help you stop smoking. In this group hypnosis setting, you will identify and overcome physical and ritualistic triggers to smoking, take charge of sabotaging behaviors, and become confident and secure in your new life as a non-smoker.

Guided Deep Breathing

Deep breathing exercises have been shown to support blood flow, increase energy levels, stimulate the lympthaic system and improve digestion. Explore various deep breathing techniques and find the one that is perfect for you. Styles reviewed include deep belly breathing, unequal ration breathing and alternate nostril breathing.

Grounding Consciousness to Earth and Life

Energies in the body can be influenced by different sound waves, which can also affect your brain. Learn about some of these sounds and instruments and experience several types that can lead to a meditative, calming state.
