Qigong Stretching: Yi Jin Ching

Calendar Oct 25, 2018 at 5 pm, runs for 4 weeks

Yi Jin Ching is a 1,500-year-old Qigong practice that includes a series of postures to provide fitness and wellness conditioning for the body. These postures build flexibility and strength through progressive stretching and releasing, while stimulating energy flow. This is a gentle class that anyone can do. May also be performed in a chair.

Dates: Thursday, Oct. 25-Nov. 15; 5-6 PM

Reflexology for Self-Care

The theory behind reflexology is that each of the body's organs and glands are "linked" to corresponding areas of the hands, ears and feet. Applying pressure to these areas relaxes muscles, improves blood circulation and helps to reduce symptoms of common health issues. In this class, learn how to take care of yourself and loved ones with reflexology on the hands and feet.

Dates: Saturday, Nov. 3 & 10; 9:30-12 p.m. (2 sessions)

Secrets to Cooking Fish

This class will expose you to a variety of cooking techniques for several different types of fish. This is not a hands-on class, but don't worry, you will still get to ask questions and taste the dishes!

Join Dr. Michael MacKechnie, skilled orthopedic surgeon with a sub-specialty in sports medicine surgery, for this free presentation on shoulder injuries and treatments.

Dr. MacKechnie was the assistant team physician for the Los Angeles Lakers. He also served as the assistant team physician to the UCLA Bruins Football team.  Additionally, Dr. MacKechnie was the team physician for the UCLA Bruins Men’s Water Polo, Men and Women’s Track and Field, and Women’s Golf teams. He has treated other professional athletes playing soccer, hockey, and football.
