Nurturing the Mind-Body Connection

Your health is affected by your thoughts and emotions. This class offers an opportunity to learn more about the research behind this connection, and discover ways to use writing exercises, breath work and a moving meditation to tune into the body’s wisdom to restore and sustain health and wellbeing.

Sauteing 101

Learn to cook a variety of delicious foods, fast! Originally part of the Cook Like a Chef series, we are focusing on one cooking technique: sautéing (cooking in a pan with a little oil or other liquid). Different than our hands-on classes, this is a great class for beginners or seasoned home cooks as everyone will learn something new, taste delicious food and get their questions answered.

Stop Smoking with Hypnosis - Augusta

Have you tried quitting smoking but just can’t break the habit? Hypnosis can help you regain your control and help you stop smoking. In this group hypnosis setting, you will identify and overcome physical and ritualistic triggers to smoking, take charge of sabotaging behaviors, and become confident and secure in your new life as a non-smoker.

Tai Chi for Health - THU AM, Augusta

This is an easy-to-learn form of tai chi that focuses on healing, relaxation and improving mobility and balance. Medical studies have shown that practicing this program helps improve the control of diabetes; improves flexibility, muscle strength, heart and lung function, posture and balance; and increases one’s ability to relax.

Dates: Thursday, Feb. 8-March 29, 10-11 a.m.

Yoga for Cancer Recovery

This program is designed specifically for someone going through cancer treatment or recovery and is suitable for those who have never practiced yoga before. Join us to begin to regain strength and mobility, while supporting a healthy immune system and reducing stress. May be done in a chair or on a mat.

Dates: Monday, March 5-26, 4-5 p.m. (4 sessions)
